# Stillwell — Website Practice Kit

This is an original fictional residential painting brand, not a real client or a trading business. The architectural illustrations are color studies, not photographs or completed projects. Do not describe the work as commissioned client work in an application.

## Start here
1. Open the private preview and visit Home, Services, The Palette, Our Approach, and Contact.
2. Open Practice Studio from the footer and choose Open WordPress practice site. This launches the official WordPress Playground in a new tab using the included blueprint.
3. Let WordPress finish loading. The first launch downloads WordPress and a browser PHP runtime. A laptop or desktop is recommended for editing.
4. In WordPress, open Pages and edit the Home page. Change a heading, preview it, and restore it. Page text, groups, buttons, and images use core blocks. The shared header/footer and demonstration form are Custom HTML blocks; these require more care to edit.
5. Export/save the Playground before closing it. Returning to the original launcher creates a fresh starter; it does not restore unsaved edits. Browser storage can be cleared. This is not production hosting or a backup service.
6. Open a second fresh Playground and restore the saved copy to practice a restore. Record whether both page content and design survived.

## What is included
- Five-page responsive static preview, with original SVG illustrations and CSS.
- Installable WordPress block theme ZIP. This provides styling and templates, NOT the sample page content by itself.
- blueprint.json: creates the theme and all five sample pages inside WordPress Playground.
- page-content.json: core-block page content used by the setup script.
- Editable workflow, sample offer, and validation status below.

## Contact form status
The form validates fields and displays a review message locally. It does NOT send email, create an inquiry record, upload files, or collect analytics. Use fictional information only. Before selling a live form, agree on the recipient and data retention, integrate an appropriate form delivery service or WordPress form plugin, configure spam controls, and test receipt and failure cases on the actual host. Do not ship the practice form as a working lead-capture system.

## First fixed-scope offer — draft for validation
Deliverable: a five-page informational website (Home, Services, Work/Palette, Process/About, Contact) using approved client copy, branding, and owned images; responsive layouts; one standard contact form; two revision rounds; and a handoff guide.
Timing: agree after reviewing the brief, content availability, platform, and access. Do not promise a deadline based only on this sample.
Pricing: quote the actual scope after estimating labor, platform costs, and contingency. No unvalidated income or sales guarantees.
Exclusions: ecommerce, customer accounts, custom databases, migrations, paid advertising, legal copy, unlimited revisions, ongoing monitoring, and emergency support unless separately scoped.
Client owns: domain, hosting, content, platform subscriptions, and production credentials. Use individual accounts and least necessary access.
Payment: agree written milestones and acceptance criteria before work. New features are new scope. Distinguish fixes to delivered work from subsequent content changes.

## Repeatable delivery checklist
### Before accepting
- Confirm platform, scope, pages, integrations, budget, deadline, and decision-maker.
- Review the existing site and any plugin/theme constraints.
- Confirm AI assistance is permitted and client data handling is agreed.
- Collect verified business details, service area, photos, rights, and approved claims.
- Define revisions, exclusions, payment milestones, acceptance, and support period.
### Before editing
- Back up database, files, and configuration; record the restore procedure.
- Work in staging. Disable real outgoing messages and payment collection there.
- Record platform/plugin versions and existing issues.
### Before launch
- Check each page and navigation link at phone, tablet, and desktop widths.
- Test keyboard access, visible focus, headings, alt text, and contrast.
- Validate contact form success, errors, spam controls, inbox receipt, and mobile use.
- Use real content and remove all demo notices only after replacing fictional material.
- Verify metadata, redirects, indexing preferences, and privacy information as applicable.
- Back up production, document rollback, obtain approval, then publish.
### Handoff
- Share ownership/access, concise editing instructions, and a change log.
- Record the final versions, backup location, restore steps, and any open issues.
- Confirm who maintains updates, forms, billing, and domain renewals.

## Verification status
Completed: JavaScript syntax checks; internal static link and asset checks; required WordPress theme files; blueprint structure and content checks; inquiry validation/review logic checked in a lightweight DOM harness.
Not completed: actual browser visual QA; executing WordPress/PHP; WordPress editor round-trip; Playground import/export restore; real email delivery; production performance/accessibility audit. These are release gates for client work, not completed claims.
